FUN FACTS

  • Real Estate is like Singles, and Doubles Tennis. Daily, we compete with other agents for buyers and sellers. But, once we get a transaction, both agents must work together, while still representing our individual Clients. Our agents know how to compete; and maintain our comradery. Both agents and staff work for the best benefit of our clients, while enjoying our jobs and one another.

  • I love how we enjoy the positive attributes of both a large city, while maintaining a small town feel in Charlotte.

  • My favorite vacation spot is the North Carolina mountains. In all four seasons, there are many things to enjoy.

  • In my free time I enjoy traveling, especially overseas. I’ve been to 47 US States, and 42 Countries.

  • I’ve competed in 15 Marathons, including 10-NY City, 2-Charlotte, 1-Marine Corps, the 100th-Boston and the 1990-Moscow International Marathon.

ABOUT ME

Prior to joining Cottingham Chalk Realtors, my career included in technology at IBM, finance at NCNB (now, Bank of America), and 11 years of exporting food to the Far East. Cottingham Chalk has been my job-home since 2001, and I have enjoyed helping buyers and sellers with general brokerage of single family homes and condos/townhomes.

Finding the right home for buyers, and/or marketing homes for sellers, is a gratifying experience. I take pride in helping clients determine market values and have trained new Cottingham Chalk agents in a detailed process to determine home values.

I have served our 13,000-Member Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association as President and Treasurer, as well as on the NC Association of Realtors® Board.  I was appointed to the Char-Meck Planning Commission and to the Airport Advisory Committee, serving as Chair. I currently chair the Charlotte Chamber Airport Committee. Supporting community groups is very important to me. I am on the May 20th Society Board which celebrates Charlotte’s rich history – including the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence (which is disputed) and Mecklenburg Resolves (which are confirmed). Among other positions, I have also served three terms on the Christ Episcopal Church Vestry (i.e., Board of Elders).

Through previous jobs, and on personal time, I’ve been to 48 States, and 42 Countries. Running races was a passion – including 15 Marathons, 10 NY City, 2 Charlotte, and one each in Washington DC, the 100th Boston, and the 1990 Moscow International Marathon in Russia.

Charlotte is concurrently one-tenth New York…….and ten times Mayberry. It is both a small city and a large town. Having lived here since 1968, I have seen Charlotte’s spectacular growth while maintaining its smaller town feel. I believe Charlotte is poised for even greater success in the future. I am ready to help you with your real estate needs throughout Charlotte Mecklenburg, and the surrounding counties.
